Vehicle Description
The original Mk1 made famous by Inspector Morse and Britain’s first Grand Prix World Champion Mike Hawthorn paved a beautiful design path that brought us to the Jaguar Mk2. A design that was still being copied for the later S-type Jaguars in the early 2000’s. The example we have here is a 1968 Jaguar MK2 3.8 In Carmen red with red trim. The bodyshell and all panel work is absolutely stunning, and is truly a credit to the restorers. Considering the paint has now been on the car for over 20 years, it is still practically flawless – no bubbling to be seen anywhere, and the finish really is absolutely fantastic. For once, the pictures simply do not do the car justice. The panel fit is spot-on, the door and wing bottoms, boot lid and bonnet are immaculate – in fact, all of the panel work is absolutely beautiful. The doors shut with that lovely Jaguar ‘thunk’, with the light push of a finger. It is fitted with plenty of upgrades which include 2×2″ XJ6 carbs, Electronic ign, High speed starter, Alternator, 5 speed Tremec gearbox, Harvey Bailey front springs and anti roll bar, GAZ adjustable shocks, Poly bushed joints, High ratio steering, Adjustable electric power steering, Smaller Mota Lita style wheel, Four Pot aluminium calipers, Cross drilled and grooved vented discs, Rear axle has been changed for 3.8 with rebuilt LSD. 4 x trailing links with Panard rods etc. Custom made rear wheels 6J, slightly offset. XK140 bucket seats, with new carpets. The driving experience from this car is just incredible and a worthy upgrade to the original MK2. Comes with a 12 month warranty, full service and 12 months MOT.
