Vehicle Description
This a beautiful recreation by Suffolk Sports Cars of the stunning Jaguar SS100. The original SS100 released in 1937 to much fanfare, followed on from the SS90 and improved on that car in every way, with eventually fitting the larger 3 1/2 litre engine to give more top speed and horsepower. A definite William Lyons triumph.
Suffolk Sports Cars were based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, United Kingdom and built glass fibre (GRP) SS100 replicas. Upon receiving an order, the replica car was built individually by hand to the customer’s own specifications. Alternatively, a replica could be ordered in component form for skilled home assembly in which this was the case in the latter. Built by an ex Rolls-Royce Jet engine engineer over the last few years, it was definite labour of love. Wherever you look on this car, you can see a high level of detail in the build. Finished in the striking Indigo Blue with Saddle tan interior that was beautifully done by Donna Ross who now runs Victory Trim in Ipswich. The engine fitted is the XK6 4.2 litre, which not only offers more Bhp and torque than the original SS100, but sounds fantastic. The power is driven to the rear wheels via the 4 speed Jaguar gearbox, offering easy, slick gear changing. It sits adjustable suspension and also comes with vented disc brakes, stainless steel exhaust and Facet fuel pump,
This car is fully road legal and IVA tested. Ready for the open road. Sadly the original owner who put so much hard work and love into this car passed away recently, only putting 150 miles on the clock. It would be lovely to see it on the road in the hands of an enthusiast once again.
