Vehicle Description
This stunning Austin Healey 3000 BN7 was built on March 23-27 1961 and dispatched on March 29 to the Donald Healey Motor Company Ltd at Warwick as a Personal Export Delivery, destination, Switzerland. Original equipment included Adjustable Steering Column (LHD), Disc Brakes, Wire Wheels, Heater, & Hard Top. The Healey was repatriated by Healey Specialists Murray Scott-Nelson, registering with the DVLA and selling it to its first UK owners in March 1990. That same year saw the car sold where the new owner kept it until 1991. In that time Murray Scott-Nelson did some minor work on the car. The invoices for this are in the comprehensive history file. In October 1991 the Healey was sold to a gentleman in Northampton where he sold it to renowned Healey restorer Bernie Clover who sourced this BN7 on behalf of its new owner, living in Norfolk. The owner commissioned Bernie Clover to carry out a ‘Nut & Bolt’ restoration on a new chassis. The restoration also included converting to RHD and fitting an aluminium fuel tank, plus a soft top before painting it in its factory Healey Blue Metallic with matching blue interior. The history file contains all invoices along with a photographic record of the high quality workmanship of the restoration completed in 1996, that is reflected in the Healey’s stunning condition today, having covered less than 35,000 miles since 1996 with the sharpest of panel gaps. The last owner purchased the car in May 2004.and throughout almost 20 years has kept a meticulous record of a fastidious maintenance regime, that includes refurbishment of a hardtop to join the soft top, plus upgrades and a recent further high quality repaint in its factory colour of Healey Blue Metallic. Simply put, it is one of the best out there.
