Vehicle Description

1959 AUSTIN HEALEY FROGEYE SPRITE. Iris Blue with White Factory Hard Top. Totally restored by us, from a bear shell, some 20 years ago and as you can appreciate still in fantastic condition! Subsequently modified to provide the ultimate driving ‘Frogeye’’ by BRDC member. Engine is now 1380cc by Dave wells / SH Engineering with the following- Vernier cam gears, new followers, Kent 266 camshaft, cam bearings, oil pump, water pump, oil cooler, Mural pistons, bigger valves, valve guides, high lift rocker assembly, inlet manifold, Webber carb, main/big end bearings, all new gaskets and seals. The block has been bored/honed, rotating assembly balanced, Cylinder head ports reworked, valves seats recut for larger valves and blended to ports, head/block refaced (compression ratio 10.5:1). Lightened flywheel, clutch, Gearbox – 5 Speed Ford type 9. Suspension uprated with leaf spring lowering kit and adjustable AVO Shocks, high ratio rack with black leather Moto-Lita steering wheel. Stainless Sports Manifold and Repackable Sports Exhaust by Frontline, Bespoke Seats in Navy with contrasting light blue piping also by Frontline. Recently rolling road tuned by Peter Burgess of Alfreton the supplied graph showing the cars is producing 110bhp at the wheels at 6500rpm. The wheels are believed to be magnesium AR Silverstone from a similar period to the car shod with Yokohama tyres that are all in excellent order. Also comes with its original engine fitted with Cooper head and aluminium rocker cover. The correct AH head is included with AH rocker cover, flywheel/ring gear and bell housing plate. All the work on this car has been undertaken professionally by Race/Classic car specialists. This car has featured in Classic Car Weekly, Classic Car Buyer and Classic Car magazine issue 574 .  Great fun and a delight to drive.
